Now in its fourth issue, the quarterly publication shines a light on the people and businesses at the forefront of strengthening and rejuvenating the region. And once again, we’ve helped PD Ports bring their stories to life, with support across design, print and digital.

Celebrating the work of not just PD Ports, but also their partners and stakeholders, Bridge showcases the River Tees and its wider region, as well as matters facing the maritime industry on a global level.

The latest edition has a keen focus on the future, with themes including skills, education, young people and the environment. Acknowledging the challenges facing the Tees Valley, Issue 04 highlights those working to shift the narrative and increase awareness of opportunities; all while raising aspirations, attracting investment and protecting our planet.

Leading the features is an interview with Executive Chairman of PD Ports, Jerry Hopkinson, who gives his views on the company’s historic role as Statutory Harbour Authority and its continuing importance in the modern world. Elsewhere, there’s guest articles from the likes of Katrina Morley, chief executive of Tees Valley Education; Kevin Shakesheff MBE, President of Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers; Mike Kane, Shadow Maritime Minister; Bill Scott OBE, CEO of Wilton Universal Group; and Mark Simmonds, Director of Policy and External Affairs at British Ports Association.

As part of her introduction, Kirsten Donkin, Head of PR, Marketing and Communications at PD Ports, said: “The Tees Valley is home to some of the UK’s key industries, with more on the horizon, offering quality careers and exciting opportunities.

“At the same time, we continue to face socioeconomic challenges and often rank as one of the most disadvantaged regions in the country. Too often we hear that young people feel there are no opportunities for good jobs and that they must leave the Tees Valley to succeed.

“This issue of Bridge aims to shine a light on the people working to change that misconception, the business owners, educators and ambassadors who put the weight of their organisation’s influence – and often their own personal time and effort – into helping children and teenagers understand the career paths available to them.”

We’re proud to continue our partnership with PD Ports, one of the UK’s major port groups. Providing support across brand strategy, identity, design and digital, our work has brought logic and consistency to their marketing and communications for over a decade.
